Advanced Technology At Pinnacle Dental

Precision Dentistry

When you seek care at our office, you are assured that Dr. Kuzmin and staff utilize the latest in technology to enhance the quality and fit for your dental care.

Our practice uses high power dental loops to enhance the precision of patient care.

Dentistry is micro-surgery. Using high power loops with a light source enhance our ability to see small details, and create for you the best restorations possible.

Many dentists use air-driven “hand-pieces” (the dental term for “drills”). While acceptable for many procedures, these “whiney sounding” air-powered hand pieces all have a degree of non-concentricity; they do not rotate perfectly smoothly.

For the most precise aspects of restorative procedures, we use electric hand-pieces. This results in extraordinarily precise interfaces between your tooth and your new restoration (dental crowntooth veneer, or tooth filling). This will bring more comfort to you as well. With a more precise tool, there is less vibration and less noise.

Digital Imaging

Dr. Kuzmin chooses carefully which and when radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.

Digital imaging consists of filmless x-ray sensors which are safer for you because they use about 80% less radiation than traditional x-ray. Using sensors are also better for the environment because there is no film or chemicals to dispose of. They also give a more clear and accurate picture to help diagnose your problems better.

For patients with implant needs our office uses a CBCT, this is an xray unit that produces the most accurate image available for implant placement. It allows us to view your jaw in 3D, so we can more accurately place your implants and see anything out of the normal anatomy that would never be seen on a one-dimensional x-ray.

Digital X-Rays:

Digital X-rays offer more precision since we view the image on a computer monitor, instead of holding up a 35mm film up to the light. Digital X-rays results in 1/6th the radiation exposure to you.

Laser Dentistry

Dr Kuzmin employs a soft tissue laser, which in some cases of surgery can be used instead of a scalpel. For certain gum procedures using a laser increase healing and decreases discomfort

Some areas of use for laser

  • Apthous ulcer treatment (canker sore)
  • Frenectomy
  • Gingivectomy

Intraoral Camera

Many patients, especially younger patients, are very familiar with the latest technology and are comfortable with the high tech practice. Computers and TV screens are their primary method of information processing.

Dr. Kuzmin utilizes Intraoral Camera technology that helps enhance your understanding of your diagnosis. An Intraoral Camera is a very small camera – in some cases, just a few millimeters long. An Intraoral Camera allows our practice to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums, in order for us to accurately make a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you!

Digital Scanner

If you have ever had crown (cap) done you know one of the worst parts of the procedure is the messy dental impression material. Here at Pinnacle Dental , instead of the messy impression material, we can capture an image of the prepared tooth with the use of a digital scanner. The accuracy of the scanner is better than the traditional impression.  After preparation of the tooth the image is sent directly to the lab to fabricate your crown.  Usually having it back in less than a week.

The scanner is also useful in implant dentistry, denture fabrication and any dental procedure that requires a dental impression.

Dental centrifuge

For some implant procedures, to increase healing and decrease infection, Dr Kuzmin will draw a small amount of blood. Within your own blood are the best element to help you heal more successfully.

Once your blood has been drawn, it is immediately placed in the centrifuge and spun. The resulting membrane is removed and placed over the surgical site to enhance the healing properties of your body.
